Happy new year, peoples!

But first... I have two things to add to my personal "Do Before You Die"-list (see the previous entry):
- Go to Paris manymany times!
and
- If possible, see Paul McCartney live again!
Srsly, the vacation was GREAT and the concert just PURE AWESOME!
The gig was three hours of magnificent songs non-stop; mostly Beatles but also many great Wings songs and, though I doubted it, a couple of pieces of awesomeness from the Fireman's "Electric Arguments". They played "Something" en hommage a George Harrison, and "Here Today", the song Paul made in memory of John (I admit, I almost cried). "Blackbird", which Paul played alone on an acoustic guitar, was extremely beautiful, and "Ob-la-di Ob-la-da" made the audience of 18,000 frenchmen and -women completely crazy (live the song wasn't half as stupid as it is on the LP, actually it's pretty much WIN! 8D ).
The songs were awesome live, the whole band was great, and it was wonderful to see Paul's still in such a good shape! He's 67 already, but does his thing with the same feeling and attitude as when he was 20-30, still seems to love performing, has a good voice and seems to be a sincere, humble, fun and (which, among big celebrities like him, is pretty rare) sane person. And he played not only his good old Hofner bass, but also guitar, piano, mandolin and ukulele (not at the same time, though, that would be something), and, of course, singed. Vegetarianism really seems to be good for you! 8D The speaks between the songs he did mostly in English, but knew enough French to dedicate songs to John, George and Linda, and to call the audience his little cabbage... one cabbage (see the title!). Aww. :3
Altogether, it was as great as it can be!
And Paris, OH LA LA! A wonderful city. We went to see all the obvious sights (the Eiffel Tower had some special anniversary year, and so at nights it had an awsum light show) and a couple of little museums, did a bit of shopping and ate lots of baguette and camembert! The only bad thing was that the Centre Pompidou was on strike and I didn't get to see modern art, sobsob. Well, that's just a good reason to go back again soon!
After returning home Finland seemed so small and grey and completely lame... But it does have lots of good sides too. I'll tell you when I come up with one.
(...Nah, it's pretty nice here really, specially when there's some snow outside!)
Then came Christmas. It was nice to be together with family, but still, it was a bit strange. As a kid I just loveloveloved Christmas, but now there wasn't any special feeling at all. I guess it happens when you grow old and weary. The magic's gone. There's no return. *melancholy violin music here*
But, if nothing else, Crispbus is a great excuse to eat way too much! Yowzah! : D (And giving presents to people is fun, too.)
At New Year's Eve I finally watched the Dark Knight. You're gonna hate me for this, but I think it was a bit of a letdown. It was so long and it had so many characters and the story wriggled in so many directions. It didn't really catch me. Ledger was good as Joker, though. Maybe I had just heard too much good about the film and expected too much from it. Or maybe I'm just a ninny who can't bear it when fictional people kill each other.
I didn't make any big new year's resolutions. But perhaps this year I should try to be less paranoid and more confident and positive, sleep more, exercise more and do my homework properly. Yush, that shall I do!
The year started out pretty nice: I finally got up my arse and scanned ~The Selected Highlights~ of my last autumn's works! I'm posting them here soon. Really!
If someone bothered to read all this foggy babbling of mine: congratulations, thanks, a hug and a cookie for you! Bye.
